Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences (Master's Degree Program)

The Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences endeavors to take full advantage of the dedicated staff from the Institute of Molecular Embryology and Genetics and the Institute of Resource Development and Analysis, in addition to the Faculty of Life Sciences and School of Pharmacy, and we have introduced such subjects as Advanced Pathogenic Analysis Theory, Advanced Reproduction and Developmental Theory, Advanced Organogenetic Theory, Advanced Pathogenetics, Practical Training in Embryology, and Practical Training in Life Resource Sciences, as well as subjects that touch on the highest levels of international research such as Developmental and Reproductive Science and Regenerative Medicine, both topics that are attracting attention.

Also, as can be seen from the adoption of the Pharmaceutical Development Research Training Program for graduate school education reform support in 2007, which followed the DDS Specialist Training Program graduate school promotion initiative from 2005, the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has energetically engaged in high-quality research in drug delivery, bio-pharma, and medicinal chemistry. In the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences program, to improve upon the existing graduate school and create the drug development and life science specialists that society needs, we have introduced a four-course system with subjects unique to each course that enrich each specialization.

In addition, as actual pharmaceuticals are developed through organic cooperation in various regions, in order to develop an overhead and interdisciplinary view, the faculty in charge of each course work together to implement case study exercises, practical pharmacy exercises, and comprehensive pharmacy exercises in exercise-based classes that encourage students to actively engage in classes on their own initiative.
Furthermore, practical exercises for presentations and thesis preparation in English have been introduced in order to allow students to meet the challenges of internationalization.

Note that the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Doctor's Degree Program mirrors the Master's Program in that a four-course system has been planned for further specialization and implementation of more international approaches to education and research in an endeavor to train necessary graduates who can understand and respond to the needs of society in a comprehensive and integrated way.
