Principles and Aims of the School of Pharmacy

In 2006. Pharmaceutical Sciences course was reformed to the School of Pharmacy, a six-year course for the cultivation of pharmacies, and the School of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, a four-year course for focusing on the training of researchers.

The school aims to cultivate people rich in humanity and ethics that come complete with a highly advanced to think as a pharmacist as well as from a logical point of view, both of which serve as a basis for clinical researchers.

The school aims to cultivate people rich in creativity and inquiring mind with physical-, chemical-and biological basic knowledge that come complete with a advanced ability for researchers in life science fields.

Admission Policy of the School of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy seeks students with the following qualities that meet the educational aim of the department, which is promote future talent with capabilities of maintaining high quality standards in the field of pharmacology.

  • Students who are interested in pursuing a career in 'Pharmacy' and would like to be involved in pharmaceutical work.
  • Students who, as pharmacists, are able to cultivate an understanding of human compassion and ethics, in regard to the patient's feelings and ideas.
  • Students who have good understanding of the basic subjects that were studied in high school, and have especially excellent ability in one or more subjects in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
  • Students who can continue to improve their abilities in foreign languages and information technology as a means of gathering and sending information, and who can improve their communication skills.
  • Students who can cultivate good manners and cooperativeness as medical personnel.
  • Students who have participated in various activities, such as students' club activities, student-body activities, and volunteer work, etc., or who have pursued hobbies and activities based on one's own personal interests and goals.
  • Students who will go on to a postgraduate course after graduating from the department and who have the desire to contribute to society as leaders in various areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences, such as researchers in Clinical Pharmacology.

  • Students who have strong will and motivation to achieve their goals and overcome future difficulties.
  • Students who have good understanding of the basic subjects that were studied in high school, and have especially excellent ability in one or more subjects in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
  • Students who can continue to improve their abilities in foreign languages and information technology as a means of gathering and sending information, and who can improve their communication skills.
  • Students who can cultivate good moral principles as researchers and developers.
  • Students who have participated in various activities, such as students' club activities, student-body activities, and volunteer work, etc., or who have pursued hobbies and activities based on one's own personal interests and goals.
  • Students who will go on to a postgraduate course after graduating from the department and who have the desire to contribute to society, especially through the fields of Medicinal Chemistry and Life Sciences.
