The Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences Department endeavors to efficiently train students to become practical pharmacists who are leaders in their field, as well as researchers of fundamental pharmacy who understand pharmacists' duties in regards to in-the-field clinical pathology, R&D managers such as for manufacturing management positions that require pharmacist qualification, clinical trial coordinators, or university instructors/researchers. To achieve this, we offer two courses: The Clinical Pharmacy Course and the Medical Pharmacy Course. For this degree, the classes necessary for both medical students and pharmacy students are compulsory in the Clinical Pharmacy Course and the Medical Pharmacy Course. Also, subjects closely related to both courses were selected as compulsory classes for both courses. In addition, course subjects in each course which may be distinctive but have a high level of commonality and importance have also been set as compulsory electives within each course, and courses specialized to develop certain human resource-related characteristics are set as compulsory electives within each separate course as well. In the Clinical Pharmacy Course, for the purpose of training highly-sought leading pharmacists that can hit the ground running, in the second year of study, students will intern at a hospital or pharmacy, and compulsory elective classes have been established to develop guiding pharmacists who exert a strong ability to coach dedicated pharmacists, licensed pharmacists, and general medical pharmacy personnel. In this way, we have created a curriculum for the Medical Pharmacy Course which, in a highly-detailed manner, meets our goals for developing quality graduates.
