About Us

The School of Pharmacy at Kumamoto University was established in 2006 with a 6 year School of Pharmacy for the training of pharmacists, along with the School of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, which uses the traditional 4 year program to create an educational program which specializes in the training researchers. Later, during the reorganization of the Graduate School at the university in 2010, the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences (Master's Degree Program) was established as a Graduate School program above the School of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences.

Part of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Kumamoto University is the (4 year) Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences (Doctor's Degree Program), which was established in April of 2012 as a way for graduates of the 6 year undergraduate program (School of Pharmacy) and individuals already working at hospitals, pharmacies, and other medical institutions to enter the Graduate School, along with the (3 year) Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences (Doctor's Degree Program), aimed at students who have completed the 4 year School of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences undergraduate program and who seek to further their education beyond a master's degree.
