Welcome to the Department of Organic Chemistry, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kumamoto University.
Our research focuses on developing new catalysts and reactions for synthesizing pharmaceuticals and biologically active compounds. Centered on asymmetric synthesis with organocatalysts such as chiral phosphine oxides and with chiral lithium binaphtholate catalysts, we aim to achieve molecular transformations that have been considered difficult.
