| 3D structure of a
drug metabolizing enzyme CYP2C9 from

Heme proteins bind gas molecules, and contribute
mainly to the metabolism of drugs and chemical substances
incorporated from the environment, and to the signal
transduction in response to the environmental stresses.
We reveal the relationship between environmental
factors and biological responses in view of 3D structure
of the heme proteins, affording chemical basis in
developing efficient drugs. Based on the results
obtained, new drugs/proteins are designed/engineered
and further evaluated. |
