(1) Common diseases (diabetes, obesity and atherosclerosis), (2) sporadic Alzheimer's disease and (3) brain infarction have been increasing in the modern world and therefore, elucidating their pathophysiological mechanisms and developing therapeutics are urgently inquired. To approach them, we do the researches as follows: Novel phagocytic activity in adipocytes and the relevant modulation of adipocytokines' production; New mechanisms of β -amyloid clearance and developing the regulatory compounds, and microglial protection from neuronal apoptosis induced by oxidative stress; Neuronal injury by brain ischemia and development of novel protecting agents.
