Abstract for Doctoral Dissertation

Degree Application

When applying for a degree, a doctoral thesis and at least one paper in English of which the candidate is the principal author (including _____) published or submitted to a peer-reviewed journal is necessary. If still in the process of submission, attach the paper and a document certifying the receipt of the paper to your application.

Those who intend to apply for a doctoral degree should first submit the following documents:

(1) 2 copies of the degree application form (the prescribed form) 2
(2) A copy of your thesis
*With an attached abstract in English (with the thesis title and your name listed the before the table of contents, approx. 1 or 2 A4 pages in length)

(3) Thesis abstract (2 A4 pages in length) 3
(4) Thesis table of contents (prescribed format) 3

(with "no difference from above" inscribed in the margin, also including signature, date, and personal stamp)

(5) CV (prescribed form) 3
(6) Consent form (including if attached thesis is co-authored) 1
(7) Reprints of published articles (copies allowed), copies of referenced papers not required. 1

Candidates that are considered appropriate for delivering a dissertation by the Education Department faculty council must submit the following documents:

Thesis (data submitted via electronic medium)
*With an attached abstract translated into English approx. 1 or 2 A4 pages in length

Final examination (dissertation presentation)

Degree applicant will present their dissertation on the day designated by a professor of the Education Department.

During the dissertation presentation, the chairperson will moderate the proceedings and the presentation time is not to exceed 20 minutes. Questions will then be asked within 20 minutes.

The presentation proceedings will be organized by the relevant department (lights, clock, microphones, projector, etc.) and copies of the thesis abstract will be prepared for distribution in advance by the relevant department.
